Raja Muda of Selangor graduates from university

Selangor Raja Muda,  Tengku Amir Idris Shah, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Environmental Biology in December 2014. Tengku Amir Shah received his degree from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.

Tengku Amir is very concern about the environment and his subjects mainly in Selangor. Recently,  the 24-year-old prince joined a programme organised by Klang Municipal Council to raise awareness about dengue in Selangor. In his speech,  he urged the public to make cleanliness in their neighbourhood as a priority and to work together to combat dengue crisis

In 2013, he joined a Tree Planting Event at Kompartment 100, Raja Musa Forest Reserve.

In his speech, Tengku Amir said, he encourages everyone to promote awareness on the importance of conserving the nature at school and higher education level. He also hopes that the ecosystems at the largest peat swamp forest at the East Coast of Peninsular of Malaysia is capable to sustain the nature that will also create impacts on the locals' socio-economic. Cooperation and involvement of government agencies, private sector, non-government organizations (NGOs) will help the government to conserve and protect ecosystems of peat swamp forest.
