The eldest son of Pahang Ruler, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah installed as the Tengku Mahkota Pahang in a ceremony at Istana Sultan Abu Bakar. Tengku Mahkota Pahang is the title for the person who is the first in line to the throne of Pahang. Tengku Hassanal ascended the title following his father's installation as the 6th Sultan of Pahang. Tengku Hassanal is a graduate of Bachelor of Art in International Relation and currently pursuing his studies at Sandhurst Royal Military Academy in United Kingdom.
In the ceremony, Tengku Hassanal is also appointed as the Regent of Pahang following Al-Sultan Abdullah's installation as the Supreme Ruler of Malaysia.
