Tengku Rahimah binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Aziz Abdul Jalil Rahmat Shah was born on 4th August 1927. Her father was the Sultan of Langkat that resided at Istana Tanjung Pura from 1894 to 1927 and passed away a month before Tengku Rahimah was born. His mother, Tengku Permaisuri Zaharah is the daughter to the fifth Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Ala'eddin Sulaiman Shah.
Tengku Rahimah was married to the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Abdul Aziz on 10th March 1956.

Tengku Ampuan Rahimah was crowned as the Tengku Ampuan of Selangor at Istana Alam Shah, Klang on 28th June 1961.

She passed away on 27th June 1992 and was laid to rest at the Klang Royal Mausoleum
